SFRAW WHOLEFOOD HERBAL VITAMIN C POWDER

You have no idea how long I've been planning and researching to make this product! I'm thrilled to finally have this available to you as a separate supplement (not just added to our VITALITY BLEND and HEALTHY POWDERS - which it is!)

If you currently use a synthetic "natural" Vitamin C in your animal's diet/menu or protocols, please consider trying our Wholefood Herbal Vitamin C powder.

Unlike humans, dogs and cats manufacturer their own Vitamin C in the liver, and so it normally does not need to be supplemented. However, the amount that they naturally manufacture can sometimes be insufficient, especially with seniors who produce less as they age, and in young/growing animals at higher risk for infections or for developing joint diseases.

A truly wholefood source of vitamin C can help maintain a healthy and strong immune response when dealing with nearly every illness and disease. When the body is stressed, sick, or worn out, it taps into vitamin C stores as part of the repair process. When stress wears down the body's reserves, boosting levels through supplementation may be beneficial.

  • Potent antioxidant that strengthens the immune system to help fight many diseases.
  • Encourages the production and maintenance of collagen, the connective tissue that helps make up cartilage which is so important to joint health.
  • Helps to heal wounds and promotes tissue repair throughout the body.
  • Helps to keep teeth and gums healthy, counteracting the buildup of harmful bacteria and reducing bad breath.
  • Has been helpful in treating feline immunodeficiency virus while protecting against free radicals which cause oxidative stress and damage in the body.

Consider using supplemental vitamin C for the following health concerns:

  • Arthritis
  • Patellar subluxation
  • Degenerative bone and joint conditions including dysplasia
  • Inflammatory conditions such as allergies and glaucoma
  • Liver disease
  • Addison's disease
  • Anemia
  • Vision problems and ocular disease
  • Feline Immunodeficiency virus
  • Can be supportive while fighting cancer or for dogs/cats at higher risk for cancers (ask your oncologist if undergoing cancer treatments as it might be contraindicated with certain chemotherapy protocols)
  • With potent antiviral properties, may be a useful supplement for dogs/cats exposed to the risk of communicable infections due to their lifestyle (show dogs/cats, while being boarded, frequently in a daycare facility, etc)
  • Excellent supplement to include during periods of acute physical or emotional stress (hard exercise or extreme weather - hot/cold, changes in routine, introduction of new family members moving, traveling, etc).

Why Wholefood Herbal Vitamin C?

The primary reason is that we think it's a safer, better option compared to synthetic forms of vitamin C. That’s because of how wholefood supplements interact with your animal's body - especially in how it's absorbed and how it functions in their system. What makes SFRAW Wholefood Vitamin C different is a long story, but the primary factor is that most vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in the marketplace is not provided in a wholefood source. We think this is highly problematic because of not only where/how it is made and processed, but at a minimum, because it's not the ideal way to provide what works ideally in the body. The wholefood provides co-factors and naturally occurring compounds that make it not only safer but far more useable and bioavailable; the body “sees” the wholefood form much differently than it does any synthetic version.

Provides a source of naturally occurring synergistic nutrients including superoxide dismutase, carotenoids, lutein, flavonoids, lycopene; rutin, hesperidin, ellagic acid, quercetin, anthocyanidins; iron, potassium and calcium. Immune-modulating antioxidants with anti-inflammatory/microbial/aging properties. Up to 12 times more assimilable than synthetic Vitamin C with a potent effect on the body.

Secondly, our ingredients are pretty unique. I have dedicated many years of research and consideration as to what would be the best possible combination of foods for this helpful supplement and gathering the best sources for each organic ingredient. Check out the many cool benefits provided by each of the ingredients that we include below:

ACEROLA CHERRY provides a wholefood source of vitamins C and A, potassium, magnesium, iron and fiber. Antioxidants in acerola cherries including polyphenols and bioflavinoids that have been linked to cancer prevention, cognitive health, improving cardiac and gastrointestinal diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and vision-related problems. Anthocyanin in acerola cherries provides relief from chronic, painful conditions like arthritis and has been used in traditional systems of medicine for centuries to treat liver dysfunction, diarrhea, and stomach pains. It also benefits the skin due to its natural astringent, antifungal and antimicrobial properties while supporting the body's ability to build collagen and heal wounds.

CAMU CAMU has more vitamin C than any other food on the planet! A potent immune system booster and liver detoxifier that supports protects against gum diseases like gingivitis, and supports eye, bone and nervous system health. It has antiviral, antioxidant and anti-genotoxic properties known to improve mood, boost energy and support the nervous system. With a powerful combination of phytochemicals, minerals and amino acids like serine, leucine and valine, plus carotenoids, lutein, beta carotene and zeaxanthin this berry is far more than just a source of vitamin C.

ROSEHIPS are rich in disease-fighting antioxidants, such as vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, and manganese for a healthy immune system. They contain a variety of antioxidants; carotenoids, flavonoids, polyphenols, quercetin, leucoanthocyanins, catechins, and ellagic acid considered to be protective against cancer and heart disease; to reduce arthritis symptoms including stiffness, inflammation and pain; fight skin aging; relieve stomach disorders including stomach spasms, stomach acid deficiency, preventing stomach irritation and ulcers, and acts as a "stomach tonic" for intestinal diseases including diarrhea, constipation; lower urinary tract and kidney disorders, increasing blood flow in the limbs, increasing urine flow and quenching thirst. Lastly, Rosehips have been shown to block the activation of proteins in cartilage that can lead to an unhealthy degradation of joint tissue.

AMLA FRUIT (Indian Gooseberry or "nectar of life") is known to be the best anti-aging fruit according to traditional Ayurveda medicine. Used as a nutritive restorative tonic, and blood purifier, the regular intake of amla can lead to healthier skin, improved eyesight, and a stronger immune system. Known to reduce symptoms of heartburn. Has proven to be as beneficial as taking glucosamine sulfate or certain drugs used for reducing pain in people with knee osteoarthritis. Protects against countless ailments, viral infections to cancer; the carotene/antioxidants in amla may improve vision. In humans, daily consumption has been linked to improvement in overall eye health including reducing cataracts, intraocular tension, reddening, itching, and watering of eyes. It is a useful remedy for hyperacidity and stomach ulcers. Amla is considered a cooling food, and is traditionally used to quench excess heat and inflammation in the body.

The other great thing? NOTHING ELSE is added! Just these pure, organic, wholesome, naturally deliciously tart superfruits! NO fillers, NO flow agents, NO inactive ingredients. Yes, it may clump a little bit, but it breaks up pretty easily and this is just an indication of this product’s true wholefood purity. Enjoy! (I’ve been known to simply eat it up as is but, it can also be made into a delicious tart and tangy tea – sweeten with a little raw local unfiltered honey if you wish.)

SUGGESTED USE: Start with 5-10 mg per pound of pet's weight 2x daily. One teaspoon contains about 175-200 mg of Vitamin C. Ideal dose may be determined by "bowel tolerance" for each individual. Once an individual experiences loose stools, back off so that their stools normalize and this will be their body’s unique need at any given time. Dose may be doubled or tripled, as needed. Some individuals may require large amounts during certain periods throughout their lives or during acute crisis. You may feed freely using ”bowel tolerance” as a measurement and determining factor for what their system requires at any given time.

CAUTIONS: Individuals may experience negative or allergic reactions to any product. Should this happen, discontinue use. Please consult with your veterinarian before giving this supplement if your animal has a history of forming calcium oxalate stones. If undergoing cancer treatments, please ask your oncologist about using vitamin C (and other potent antioxidants) as it could be contraindicated with certain chemotherapy protocols.

HANDLING: Please store in a cool, dark, dry place. Subject to contamination if warm/damp.
