SFRAW WILD VENISON GRIND is made with venison harvested from the islands of Hawaii where these Axis deer, an invasive species, were decimating the fragile island ecosystem. They're humanely harvested n the middle of the night, using totally stress-methods (skilled marksmen are equipped with silencers/night vision scopes) then the carcasses are carried out, one-by-one, USDA inspected on-site and field dressed in a USDA mobile slaughtering facility, to cause the least possible stress and impact.
Our exclusive SFRAW VENISON GRIND was created in partnership with this program as part of their nose-to-tail program. We're using every bit of the animals possible in order to eliminate waste as well as honor these athletic, truly wild animals. Our ingredients include a base of primal cuts of lean muscle meat, including nutritious fibrous tissues/ligaments, silverskin, fat, etc. We grind this highly nutritious muscle meat, the "upper organ set", heart, liver, beautiful varied wild foraging Maui venison green tripe, and the furry legs with the hooves attached.
The "Upper Organ Set" refers to a large section of the wild Axis deer that is often discarded or undervalued (absolute shame, so super nutritious!) including the trachea, gullet, glands, lungs, connective tissue, diaphragm, sometimes a lobe of liver, spleen, a few include kidneys, and anything else attached to the full set removed from the carcass that's harvested under USDA inspection, carefully packed, frozen and made ready for our exclusive use in our amazing pet foods.
INGREDIENTS: Wild Venison Trim Meat, Venison Green Tripe, Venison Heart, Liver, Trachea, Lung, Spleen, Kidney, Glands, Bone-in Trotters with Fur & Hoof.
Nothing else is added (not even water). Medium grind for better nutrition.
HANDLING: KEEP FROZEN BEFORE USE. Do not microwave. Defrost at under 40 degrees; feed or refreeze within 2 days.
FEEDING: Intended for supplemental or intermittent feeding. Serve raw. Feed 2% of your pet’s ideal body weight/day or amount required to maintain ideal body composition. Step 1: Grind exclusively. Step 2: Add in supplemental/seasonal foods. Step 3: Add flavors to min. four (4) different proteins.
