Ferndale turkeys grow naturally, without the use of antibiotics or artificial growth promotants. During the temperate months, our free range turkey are rotated on fresh pasture so they have access to clean air and fresh grass. We don’t think there’s any substitute for excellent care and husbandry and we take pride in creating an environment that maintains healthy turkey raising practices without medications.

Our Raised Without Antibiotics claim starts at the hatchery, where the eggs and baby turkeys are handled to our standards and never administered antibiotics or growth promotants. We don’t think there’s any substitute for excellent care and husbandry, and we take pride in creating an environment that maintains turkey health without medications.
Custom Feed
Our goal with our feed program is to incorporate age-old wisdom with innovative new ideas to provide a well-rounded diet for our turkeys. We work closely with a local mill that custom blends our feed specifically for us. Poultry gizzards are designed to digest small grains, so the feed consists primarily of fresh ground corn and soybean meal purchased from area farms. We add an ideal balance of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, as well as probiotics, yeast, and natural herbs that work in tandem with nature to maintain excellent health in our flocks.
Humane Processing
Our commitment to raising turkeys with respect extends throughout their life cycle. We work closely with our processor to ensure our turkeys are always handled calmly and humanely. The facility is audited by third-party organizations to certify all animal welfare guidelines and processing procedures are being followed.
Naturally Processed
Our turkeys are processed naturally – without additives or fillers – at independent facilities in Minnesota. Our products are made simply, with clean ingredients and cured without artificial nitrates.
