It takes about 500-600 figs to create one 5kg cake. Workers destem the figs by hand. Today there are other companies importing fig cakes but they are a puree of stems, figs and other spices mashed into a bread. This line of fruit products is produced artisanally in Valencia by four brothers who take great pride in their work. All the items are produced with 100% fresh fruit and dried raw nuts, pressed by hand and contain no preservatives. They are excellent for retail or foodservice as a cheese accompaniment, dessert, ingredient or as is.
