What is Oculus Prime?

Oculus Prime is a unique blend of four sea plants: two green seaweeds, one brown seaweed, and a touch of red sea moss. These plants are celebrated for their anti-inflammatory properties, particularly on mucosal membranes. By calming irritation in the eyes, it reduces excessive tearing. Essentially, Oculus Prime works from within to alleviate weepy eyes and tear staining in dogs.

What Causes Tear Staining and Weepy Eyes in Dogs?

Tear staining and weepy eyes are common in many dogs, especially smaller, white-coated breeds. Weepy eyes can be caused by many things including: eye infections, foreign objects, or structural inherited eye issues. If these concerns have been attended to and yet eye weeping continues, the underlying problem is generalized inflammation and chronic dis-eases such as allergies may be involved.  Weepy eyes are a symptom of a body in an inflammed state; sympoms are how the body communicates to us that needs our attention to make a change or provide assistance.

Potential sources of inflammation that are under our control and can be avoided include:

  • Feeding processed food
  • Feeding processed & most commeically available pet treats & chews
  • Feeding fodos or treats high in carbohydrates, or with added flavors, colors, preseratives, fillers, binders or denaturants
  • Chemical parasite control and unnecessary vaccinations
  • Household or garden chemicals
  • Unfiltered water (with chlorine, floride, etc.)
  • Inflammation from chronic disease or allergies

The first step to helpoing your dog reduce the inflammation in their body is to minimize or elininate these inflammatory factors and introduce an anti-inflammatory fresh food diet, feed only home-prepared single ingredient or limnited ingredient treats, implement various natural protocols and remedies to focus on detoxification and reducing inflammation.

Porphyrins

Your dog's tears contain an iron-based compound called porphyrins. This is what causes that reddish-brown staning of the fur and skin. By reducing tear production, you can minimize porphyrins, allowing your dog’s fur to return to its natural color as it grows out.
